Brian Brown - Non-executive Director
Brian Brown, former Chief Executive of TSB Trust Company has been closely involved with the issue of quality in the financial services industry for many years, initially as a member of the Life Assurance & Unit Trust Regulatory Organisation’s (LAUTRO) committee and between 1980 & 1988 as a member of the Unit Trust Association (UTA) executive committee.
In 1967 Brian launched the first TSB unit trust and by the time he retired as TSB Trust Company Chief Executive he had expanded the business to become one of the UK’s largest and most successful “bancassurance” operations. In 1992 he wrote “Allfinanz Without Limits” a unique insight into the growth and development of this highly successful financial services business.
In 1999 he was asked to assist the management buy out of P&I from the AA and was appointed Chairman of the new Board. He retired as Chairman in 2005 but he has continued as a non-executive director.
